Man and Woman killed in accident at SK Battery Plant

For those involved in the jobsite accident, you are in our thoughts and prayers here at IBEW 613.

On Nov. 4, two construction workers were killed at the SK Battery factory in Jackson County

Emergency crews said a man fell several feet and landed on a woman, rushing both to the hospital. Currently, an investigation has been launched into the cause of the accident.

Though this is not an IBEW Local 613 jobsite, we want to take the time to express our deepest condolences to these two workers and their families as they deal with this tragic accident.

Our Local puts time and energy into ensuring that our members remain safe on jobsites so they can safely return home at the end of each workday.

The dangers our members face every day working in the community is something we take seriously and that is why as a labor union, we provide training to all of our new Apprentices and upgrade training to all IBEW 613 Brothers and Sisters.

In 2021, IBEW Local 613 will be providing upgrade training in the Spring and Fall. If you are a member needing to update your OSHA-30, please contact your Business Representative for details of the training times and days.
